The village of Irancy, neighbour and friend of Chitry, is situated 15 km from Auxerre in the hollow of a valley whose slopes are covered with vines. An ancient local grape variety, the Caesar, coloured and structured, can be associated to a maximum of 10% with the Pinot Noir. Irancy is characterised by blackcurrant, cherry and spice aromas. On the palate, it has good liveliness and real ageing potential. Irancy AOC is only vinified as a red wine. Irancy wines have a remarkable aptitude for ageing.
